Nam Kading National Protected Area Seeks an Apprentice |
|
The Nam Kading National Protected Area (NKNPA) in Lao Peoples Democratic Republic (PDR) was off limits to tourists until June 2009. Now the area is open to eco-tourists seeking to visit some of Lao PDRs most rugged and wild areas. Government of Lao and partner Wildlife Conservation Society are in the process of building the Nam Kading Research and Training Centre in order to educate visitors, provide locations for research on biodiversity and offer conversation tourism.
The center is looking for motivated, self reliant, current students or recent graduates with a background and interest in conservation and tourism, to assist in setting up this exciting new centre. The apprentice will work with local guides to set up educational treks into the NKNPA, set up trainings for villagers in management the NKRTC. Three hikes are being developed into the heart of the NKNPA.

Orangutan Foundation International (OFI) seeks a Communications Intern in Kalimantan, Indonesia |

 The Orangutan Foundation International Fellows Program is
seeking a Communications Officer Intern, starting January 15th.
This internship offers individuals a rare opportunity to travel
abroad and witness firsthand the impact and realities of wildlife
and habitat protection, by working at OFI's Orangutan
CareCenter in Pasir Pajan, Kalimantan, Indonesia. The OFI
Fellow is an unpaid, volunteer based position designed to
increase OFI's impact and to offer participants a unique insider experience.
Facilities include the Orangutan Care Center, which rehabilitates 330 young orangutans and prepares them for return to the wild, 16 guard posts throughout the park and numerous staffed feeding stations.
